Bilberries are a type of wild blueberry that natively grows in Europe, the berries have a red fleshy inside and have medical uses. This variety is really tarty. Cross pollination by having multiple blueberry bushes close in proximity leads to bigger yields. This species is more susceptible to some diseases but it is cold-hardy. The plant usually goes dormant in winter and starts flowering in April. | |
